Poconos Gets Its First Fully Dog-Friendly Resort with Good Dog! Vacation Club at Big Valley Resort.
Updated: Mar 16, 2018
For the 11 million people within a 3-hour drive of the Poconos who own at least one dog, travel has been difficult to say the least. Until now, dog owners' vacation options were limited to small hotel rooms, campgrounds, or the unpredictability of an AirBnB host. Worse yet, many vacationers with pups have been forced to board their dogs in kennels or find costly pet sitters, only to be left feeling guilty or worrying about the care their pets are receiving instead of enjoying themselves while on vacation.
Perhaps the most frustrated among these travelers are those with large dogs. Too often, there is a stigma surrounding certain breeds and sizes. This results in highly restrictive pet policies based on weight (often just a polite method of breed restriction), number of dogs allowed, and the dreaded "dog-friendly" rooms (code for "we haven't renovated in a while").
Good Dog! Vacation Club does not discriminate based on breed, size, or number of dogs. There are no "dog-friendly" accommodations. Instead, Club members stay in their own recently remodeled & renovated 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom house. Each house sits on its own private acre of land and includes a 200 linear-foot fenced in area, complete with a small, private in-ground dog pool (seasonal).
More dog-themed amenities and activities are in the works. Stay tuned!
